Rob Kucher Elected President and Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association

Ottawa, Ontario — (May 30, 2017) – Rob Kucher, Cardinal Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc., Thunder Bay, has been elected as the president and chairman of the board of the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) at its annual general meeting held in conjunction with the 2017 CRCA annual conference.

Rob is the President of Cardinal Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc. in Thunder Bay. Rob has been involved in the roofing industry since 1986. He started working for his parents as a Roofing laborer and continued roofing through the trade until he became the Roofing Supervisor for Cardinal Roofing. In 1998 he received his Certificate of Qualifications in the sheet metal trade. In 2000 Rob started to take over the daily operations under his father’s guidance and in 2006 Rob purchased Cardinal Roofing from his parents.

“Rob has been involved in the roofing industry for many years and brings a hands on approach to the issues facing the industry,” says Bob Brunet, CRCA’s Executive Director. “He is a proven leader and his experience will serve him well as he takes over and guides CRCA’s activities in the future.”

Rob joined the CRCA board of directors in June 2014 and served as the 1st vice president from 2016-2017. He has been an Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association (OIRCA) board member since 2007 and a key member of their Labor Relations committee. In 2013 and 2014, he served as OIRCA’s president and today continues to serve on the board as a director.
