Single-Ply Recommendations

The following are recommendations put forward by the CRCA Single-Ply Sub-committee reflecting the current state of the art in design and application.
- EPS under loose-laid single-ply membranes shall be Type 1 with a minumum Compressive Strength of 69 kPa (10 psi). Type 1 minimum thickness shall be 2″ in one layer. Lower thicknesses require a minimum of 7/16″ fibreboard cover. EPS must meet CGSB Standard and be third party certified.
- Concrete decks require a separation layer of a Polyester mat cushion separator min. weight of 200/g/sq.m needle punched under loose-laid membrane. The deck shall be steel trowelled.
