3.3.4 Safety

Worker safety is always a priority. Every aspect of working during the winter months (it is more demanding on vehicles, equipment and clothing) it must be realized that site conditions change dramatically during these periods.

Falls are always an issue when working at heights. Trips and slips become more common as wet and frozen surfaces provide more treacherous footing.

Workers should also be aware cold weather conditions may result in frostbite and hypothermia and to have adequate personal protection equipment, i.e. gloves, hats, adequate clothing.
