Date: October 16, 2023
Ottawa, ON—The Canadian Roofing Contractors Association, International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultant (IIBEC), and the National Roofing Contractors Association have released Roofing Project Submittal and Protocol Guidelines.
The cooperative document provides guidelines for specifying roofing project submittals on a project-specific basis and discusses protocols for handling project submittals during projects’ design, prebid, bidding, preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases. Three appendixes provide checklists for contractors, owners, and specifiers, and a fourth appendix lists sample forms.
NRCA and the Roof Consultants Institute (now IIBEC) published the first edition of the document in 2004. The new edition is intended to update and supersede the first edition, reflect changes in construction and roofing practices and project procedures, and acknowledge the similarities and differences between U.S. and Canadian practices.
Roofing Project Submittal and Protocol Guidelines is available in both English and French free at each organization’s website CRCA, IIBEC and NRCA.
