CRCA makes many valuable publications available to members on issues that are important to the industry. Our current library includes CRCA's Roofing Preventative Maintenance Manual, Roofing Specifications Manual, Canadian Roofing Reference Manual, the Technical and Advisory Bulletins and the Roofing Canada magazine.
Roofing Preventative Maintenance Manual
The Roofing Preventative Maintenance Manual provides information about maintaining a roof to obtain the highest level of performance throughout its useful life. It can be used on its own or as part of the Standard Form of Warranty that can be issued nationally by CRCA members. This manual is only available to CRCA members and is available in either English or French.
Roofing Specifications Manual
The Roofing Specifications Manual presents proven and acceptable general standards for roofing practices and procedures. The manual is beneficial to architects, engineers, specifiers and building owners. It can also be used by contactors and manufacturers.
CRCA's Roofing Specifications manual has been extensively revised to reflect the roofing industry today. It is double the size of its predecessor issues in 1997. This edition of the manual includes both the manual and a fully searchable CD. An exhaustive list of commonly found roofing assemblies are included in the manual. It includes both low slope and steep slope roofing. Bituminous built-up roofing, mod-bit, EPDM, PVC and TPO membranes are profiled in the manual. Where appropriate, separate specifications are included on insulated and uninsulated assemblies, protected membrane roofs and adhered, mechanically fastened and ballasted assemblies. A hot rubberized roofing specification is also included in this comprehensive document.
Canadian Roofing Reference Manual
The Canadian Roofing Reference Manual is a core national training and upgrading manual that provides the theoretical and technical information required to perform the tasks set out in the national training standards for both apprentices and journey persons. This manual is of great benefit to roofers and is not intended to replace existing roofing training material but to complement current methods. Research and development of the manual took place from 1995 to 1999. The 678-page manual is divided into four separate books. The manual serves as a ready reference for use on the job site and to supplement other information that roofers require to do their jobs safely, effectively and efficiently. The manual will be useful not only for journeypersons and apprentices, but also to other groups central to roofing - from architects and engineers to specifiers and building owners.
CRCA Technical and Advisory Bulletins
CRCA Technical Bulletins are designed to inform the roofing community of technical matters that will have continuing, long-term impact on the roofing industry in Canada. CRCA Advisory Bulletins are intended to provide CRCA's members with information on pertinent technical issues, which may affect the roofing industry for a particular timeframe.
