CRCA announces call for entries for 2018 Roofing Canada Award

August 31, 2017 - CRCA is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 2018 Roofing Canada Award. The Roofing Canada Award recognizes CRCA members for outstanding workmanship, innovation, service to the community and or service to the industry. Unique roofing-related jobs, programs, and services that were completed in the last two years will be eligible for the competition. All entries will be recognized by their peers for their significant contribution to the roofing industry. CRCA has published two new Advisory Bulletins

June 2017 - Electrical Conduit Hazards
Roofing workers may encounter electrical conduit that is embedded within a roofing system or mounted directly to the underside of the roof deck, when completing roofing removals or mechanically fastening insulation or roofing membranes. The presence of electrical conduit is sometimes unforeseen and could be problematic and potentially dangerous to roofing workers and costly to building owners. Click here for complete bulletin .

June 2017 - Uncommon Rooftop Hazards
There are many hazards that workers are exposed to when working on a rooftop. Some hazards are readily apparent such as fall hazards at roof edges or openings, electrical hazards posed from overhead power lines and safety hazards posed by roofing operations. CRCA Announces Roofing Canada Award Winner

Ottawa, Ontario -- (May 30, 2017) - The Canadian Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) has announced that Toitures Trois Étoiles Inc. from Lasalle is the recipient of its annual Roofing Canada Award for their work on the Windsor Building in Montreal. Rob Kucher Elected President and Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association

CRCA announces Frank Ladner Award recipient

June 9, 2016 - During CRCA's 57th Annual Convention held May 28-30 in Halifax Nova Scotia, CRCA announced that Dr. Sudhakar Molleti is the 2016 recipient of the Frank Ladner Award. Dr. Molleti is a Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada's Construction Portfolio. His past work includes wind effects on low-sloped roofing systems, wind performance of vegetated roof assemblies, as well as energy and durability of PV integrated roofs. He is an active member of ASTM's Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing and CRCA's National Technical Committee.
